Friends and Family Association (FAFA)

Hightown's Parents Association is known as Friends and Family Association, or FAFA, and encourages parents to become involved in varying aspects of school life. The Chair Kate Mills, whose son attends Hightown, has been extremely proactive and has sourced a variety of funding and support for school from local businesses.

FAFA also organises regular fund raising activities such as sponsored events, discos and fashion shows. All of these events have helped to raise much needed funds for the school. This has helped to purchase PE equipment, outdoor play equipment, books, a CD player, new classroom blinds and also to help refurbish the school hall.

Some of FAFAs successes in recent years include:

  • £270 from a fashion show in March 2003
  • £1,300 from a sponsored bounce in April 2003
  • £1,300 from the summer fair in June 2003
  • £200 from a fashion show in November 2003
  • £1,200 from a sponsored bounce in January 2004
  • £850 from the summer fair in June 2004
  • £1,200 from a sponsored bounce in November 2005
